Ecocotton wool – the practical decision for warming

Cold off-season and hard winters – the usual phenomenon for the most part of the territory of our country. Therefore for many the question of warming of own dwelling becomes serious problem. Only quality material will be able to keep heat in the building and will become reliable guarantee of comfort and cosiness in the house. Warming ecocotton wool, modern heat-insulating covering, will help builders to solve all problems.

Ecocotton wool: what is it?

Ecocotton wool is easy friable insulating covering as a part of which 81% of the cellulose processed in a special way the rest make antiseptics boric acid, and also drill fire-retarding agent. As raw materials for production of covering serves waste paper, in fact, waste material. The substances used for production of material, are non-toxical and harmless to the person. These are the natural components safe in the course of production and operation. Ecocotton wool has passed set of the examinations, and is entered in the Register of safe and natural products.

Important advantages of material

Excellent heat-insulating ability. This indicator is at the level of the best views of heater. It speaks very simply:

  • 50 cm of wooden bar.

Heat-insulating material properties does not change over time. The term of its operation, often, can exceed building life cycle.

Vapor permeability and moisture resistance. Ecocotton wool has unique ability to accumulate and give moisture to the atmosphere, stabilizing temperature and humidity of the room. At the same time material does not lose loss of the isolating properties. The unique structure of cellulose heater allows moisture not to collect in the form of drops in the thickness of covering, and to move ahead on hollow capillaries to exit in the atmosphere. The building warmed in such a way “breathes”, as well as constructions from natural wood. The vapor barrier of rooms is not required that improves microclimate in rooms, simplifies design and in general reduces costs of construction.

Fire safety. Being part of heater of drill, being excellent fire-retarding agent, when heating higher than 90C begins to release moisture. It extinguishes both ecocotton, and design which surrounds it. At the same time in air toxic substances are not emitted. Material does not burn, without influence of naked flame at once dies away. Cellulose fibers differ in high elasticity that prevents their shrinkage even in vertical designs. Heater can be used not only at construction, it is irreplaceable at reconstruction and repair of constructions when warming without analysis of the operated design is required.

Sound absorption. Thin fibers of ecocotton wool are capable to get into insignificant slots and the smallest deepenings of the processed surface. Thanks to the rough chaotic structure they are perfectly linked among themselves, forming excellent noise-insulating barrier. Sound energy is well absorbed by material, and the lack of emptiness, gaps and joints interferes with its transfer. The covering is widely used in construction of stadiums, airports and concert halls. Its index of sound insulation is twice higher, than at plates from mineral wool. The layer of ecocotton wool about 15 cm wide holds sound about 9 DB.

Bioproofness and durability. Antiseptics which is part of material interfere with development of microorganisms in covering, protect from growth of fungi and rotting. Thanks to it the quality of isolation remains long time. Insects and rodents are also not got in covering. It is caused by unpleasant taste of the connections of pine forest which are present at ecocotton wool. Besides crystals of pine forest envelop mucous membranes of animals and are hammered into airways. Thanks to high bioproofness and durability of material it is recommended for isolation of historically valuable, ancient and protected by the law constructions. Life cycle of covering is measured decades.

Ecocotton wool laying in the way of dry blowing-in

Apply special blown installation to work. It is intended for preliminary loosening of material which is carried out in the equipment bunker, and blowing of ecocotton wool through hose. Putting material by sputtering gives the chance to heater to close all gaps and slots, to get into the most hardly accessible sites and to form qualitative jointless sound-proof and heat-insulating surfacing. This method can be used both at construction, and during restoration and repair work. At the same time analysis of design will not be required.

Dry blowing-in happens two types: open and in cavity. The first option is applied to isolation of the horizontal and inclined planes, such as attic, floor, socle and interfloor overlappings. In the course of work heater as hose moves to surface, is evenly displayed on it and leveled to the necessary thickness. When laying it is necessary to consider that it has to be made with certain stock. It is connected with the fact that the ecocotton wool loosened to density about 30 kg/CBM through small time after laying is condensed up to 35 kg/sq.m. Respectively, layer width will also decrease.

Blowing-in in cavity can be applied to warming of frame, panel board constructions, the walls sheathed gypsum cardboard, penthouses on pediment or cattle roof, etc. Besides qualitative sound insulation of overlappings and interroom partitions is in such a way carried out. In general the method differs from open blowing-in in availability of design in which stack material. Process of mounting consists in the following. At preparatory stage in the protecting system technology openings for ecocotton wool blowing-in are made of tiled or membrane materials.

The heater which is fluffed up in installation and mixed with air by means of hose goes to the prepared cavity. It gradually fills all space, including the slightest slots and corners, being condensed in work flow up to 50-65 kg/CBM. Rough fibers not only are perfectly linked among themselves and the surfaces which are about them, but also are very elastic. It allows covering to resist shrinkage the entire period of operation. After material is laid, the technology opening is closed and accurately closed up.

Main advantages of way of dry blowing-in:

  • Lack of dependence on humidity and air temperature at work.
  • Available cost.
  • The laid surface does not need drying. Upon termination of blowing-in it is possible to pass to further finishing practically at once.

The small shortcoming can be considered pressure increment in the filled cavity which arises owing to forcing of the air moving together with ecocotton wool from installation. Being going to lay heater in such a way, it is necessary to consult at specialists about possibility of works and to carry out high-quality preparation for mounting.

Ecocotton wool laying by method of wet drawing

The main difference is wet glue way from dry blowing-in – use as clear water binding components or it, but in mix with water-soluble glue. The received mix perfectly sticks to surface, forming jointless continuous surfacing. The glue method gives the chance to control quality of laying and to apply heater almost ideally exactly. For work blown installation with the nozzles which are specially intended for this method is used.

Wet drawing allows to receive more dense insulating cover which is very good for using, for example, under covering. If the subsequent finishing of the building is supposed front materials, then cellulose heater is irreplaceable for outside warming of buildings. The technology of coating application differs from method of dry blowing-in a little. When drawing on basis the ecocotton wool arriving from hose is moistened with water or glue solution from special nozzle.

The laid heater is leveled by the electric roller knife removing the excesses of covering acting over its guides. As a result the plain surface of identical thickness turns out. It is impossible to start finishing immediately upon termination of works. The isolating material has to dry out completely. On it can be required depending on degree of humidity and ambient temperature from 12 hours to several days.

It is possible to carry to advantages of method:

  • Possibility of high-quality processing of the most hardly accessible sites where it is impossible to equip cavity under dry blowing-in. Such as different adjunctions, connections, etc.
  • Profitability. With other things being equal for receiving the warming covering, similar on properties, it is required approximately on one third of material less, than when using dry blowing-in.
  • There is no additional pressure upon basis.
  • The isolating layer is easily available to survey that gives the chance to estimate quality of laying of material and to reveal sites with defects.

The lack of wet drawing can be considered a little higher cost of installation works. One more “minus” – need of drying of covering makes impossible use of this way at negative temperatures and in cold season.

Ecocotton wool laying in the manual way

This method assumes to carry out laying of cellulose heater without use of special blown installation. Thus, it is the only way of laying of ecocotton wool the hands. It is limited in application. It is so possible to warm horizontal surfaces: floors or overlappings. Or to fill up material in the cavities prepared in advance in walls, roof, penthouse, etc. Manual laying – very labor-consuming and “dirty” way. It is recommended to use if the area of the warmed space is small.

For contraction of volume of packaging and convenience of transportation ecocotton wool goes on sale to pressed. Therefore before to begin laying, it is required to be brought to initial state or as builders speak, to fluff up. For this purpose the unpacked material is placed in the capacity in which it intensively “mixes up” normal drill with nozzle for paint. It is necessary to consider that the volume of cellulose heater has to increase approximately three times. After it has occurred, material can be used for isolation laying.

For warming of horizontal surfaces ecocotton wool is displayed on the plane by layer in 17-20 cm. It will be quite enough for heat preservation of floors, and also interfloor and garret overlappings at average temperature – 23C in winter months. If values fall below this mark, it is necessary to increase width of the warming layer. Density of covering has to be about 45 kg/CBM. It is considered norm.

It is possible to calculate amount of material, necessary for works, as rather easy way. It will be required to increase thickness of the warming layer by the area of the processed surface and by the recommended heater density. As a result the mass of covering, necessary for laying, will turn out. It is easy to determine the number of packagings of ecocotton wool by it.

After laying of material it is impossible to continue finishing work at once. It is necessary to wait several days. During this time the lignin which is part of covering begins to react actively with the humidified common air. As a result on surface the dense crust, about 3-5 cm wide is formed. It does not allow air to circulate freely through layer of heater and significantly raises heat-insulating material properties.

Vertical warming assumes use several other technology. Preparation of material is carried out as well as for horizontal surfaces. The difference is that the fluffed-up ecocotton wool is filled up in the prepared space between two planes. It is possible to use such way. The wall, for example, from lining is exposed on height about half a meter then the heater charge is carried out. Further it is increased a half-meter more, actions repeat and so before full raising of wall.

It is necessary to know that the normal density of material in the course of vertical warming size not less than 65 kg/sq.m. is considered. Thus the laid covering needs to be rammed periodically hands to condition of elasticity until substance begins to remind spring to the touch. For calculation of control of density of laying it is possible to use simple formula. Density of covering has to be equal to the mass of the laid material, wall, divided into volume. For receiving the qualitative warming layer specialists recommend to adhere strictly to required values of density and width of layer.

If warming of clapboard or other walls with wide slots is supposed it is worth laying before mounting their paper which will be removed then. It is necessary for prevention of dusting which is inevitable when laying ecocotton wool. After a while, when material will be pressed and will become covered by lignin crust, dust in such quantities will not be formed.

Method advantages:

  • Availability to independent mounting.
  • Profitability. For cases when it is required to lay material on the small square, and there is no desire or opportunity to pay services of specialists.

There is a lot of shortcomings of manual laying. In such a way it is impossible to cover the big areas of the warmed surface. Besides the consumption of ecocotton wool will be big, than at the mechanized laying. Also it will be impossible to process qualitatively all hard-to-reach spots, happens that to them it is just impossible to reach. Whereas in case with blowing-in of cellulose covering of such places does not remain.

Many consider that heater from cellulose – expensive pleasure. However if to count expenses on other similar coverings, it will turn out that its cost not so and is big. It is necessary to consider that technology of laying of ecocotton wool wasteless, that is no “pieces” and “stocks” will be required that will save at once some sum. Besides often include in the cost of material of the company also its mounting as it is considered that independently qualitatively it is almost impossible to execute it.

Any other covering assumes that to its attractive price it is necessary to add also the value of laying that in the sum can make not so attractive digits. It is worth to remember that the term of operation of heater is several decades without the slightest losses of quality that is not always possible for his competitors. Before to make choice, it is worth counting expenses and to competently compare available materials. It is quite possible that ecocotton wool – the excellent soundproofing and heat-insulating covering will be the most practical and economic decision.
