Stages of warming of flat roof of garage

Also will not allow formation of condensate at significant differences of humidity and temperatures.

To warm garage roof, it is necessary to prepare:

  • vapor barrier;
  • heater fiber glass (Ursa, Isover) or mineral-cotton;
  • waterproofing;
  • the gluing tape;
  • construction buttons, nails;
  • joiner’s tools.

More often the rafter step makes 50-60 cm. This distance corresponds to the traditional width of heater — within 50-61 cm. By means of technology stock occurrence of material between bars is provided dense, without gaps.

Begin with fixing between rafters, from the inside of garage, vapor barrier. It is fixed by means of buttons or construction brackets. It is important to reach absolute tightness of vapor barrier layers. Try to obtain it, gluing joints of material with the gluing tape. Afterwards the vapor barrier from within the building will be closed by any kind of finishing. Apply to these purposes fibreboard, panels, gypsum cardboard, lining and other materials.

From outer end between rafters put heat insulation (mineral wool or fiber glass), not less than 15 cm thick. The main thing to provide dense pressing of material. If there is need for heater cutting, it is possible to use special construction knife.

Edges of heat insulator have to be combined with vertical plane of outside part of walls. Between rafters beat board (150 mm) which will become the limiter for heater. Its upper edge has to be located aflush with rafters i.e. so that the tree protected heat insulation from all directions.

Between waterproofing layer which keeps within on heater and furring under roofing covering, surely leave ventilating gap from two to three centimeters.

How to warm roof from within

That it is the most qualitative to warm roof from within, it is necessary to lay three layers of insulating material: waterproofings, heat insulations and vapor barrier. Such “puff pie” is suitable also for wooden beaming, and for reinforced concrete slabs. Originally from within garage it is necessary to sew up beams with sheet material, and then laying of the listed above insulation layers is carried out.

Let’s consider in more detail heat insulation polyfoam. The way of fastening of sheets depends on overlapping design. If it is made of bars or boards, this heater is fixed by dowels or nails. Then the heat insulator is closed sheet material which is fixed to wooden blank by means of long screws.

If overlapping — concrete slabs, then the framework is necessary for the device of heat insulation. For fastening of framework to plates use metal corners and screws, self-tapping screws. Polyfoam is laid on framework, “take” it adhesive tape, and having pressed sheets of covering, fix.

Warming by polyfoam does not demand performance of waterproofing and vapor barrier since material does not pass moisture. If the fiber heat insulator is used, by all means it is necessary to take care of additional protection against moisture. The waterproofing is stacked from roof, and vapor barrier from the room.

It can heat-insulate roof independently to any owner of garage. Variety of modern materials allows to cope with this task even to the person who is not owning special skills in construction.
